Saltwater Tears Session 1

Off the Algerian coast, gnome mage Eric Smith, halfling thief Terry Grey, otterman thief Edward/Steven, and porcupineman sailor Zydeco finished their watch aboard the HMS Unicorn, a frigate on her way to join a convoy of merchant ships.

Terry and Edward decided to fish, grabbing the best lures they could find below decks. Terry lost something big, and Edward landed a soggy oozing bottom feeder before the halfling landed a real fish story. The reel unspooled quickly as more and more crewmen joined in to help pull the monster to the surface. The long shining body of a Silver Serpent burst from the water, coiled around the platform, and attacked the group.

After a tense fight (during which Terry fell in the ocean, Edward lost his fish, and the Serpent decided Porcupine Men did not taste good) Eric nailed the serpent right between the eyes with his new pistol.

The captain gave an extra ration of grog to the fishers and Terry gave the serpent to the ships inept cook, after he skinned the medicinal scales off his catch. To celebrate, the halfling and the otterman made a deal with the ships purser for some wine, in return they  would look into some mysterious thefts aboard the ship. Below in the galley, Zydigoat , Edward, and Eric made an enemy of a grumpy Gnome engineer.
